Daedalus Reef is a reef and wall dive site in the Red Sea, Egypt. It is reached by liveaboard and rated for advanced divers, with strong current. Depth ranges from 20 to 40 metres. Best months are March, April, September, October and November. The site lies within the Great Fringing Reef of the Red Sea Marine Protected Area, where night diving and snorkelling are restricted in certain zones and all diving is conducted under certified dive guides. Diving at night is forbidden under the marine park's rules. It is known as a site where hammerhead sharks are seen schooling in the Red Sea. Great barracuda is resident, while giant moray eels, green turtles, grey reef sharks, humphead wrasse, silky sharks, silvertip sharks, whale sharks and whitetip reef sharks are occasionally seen. Oceanic whitetip and pelagic thresher sharks are seen seasonally from September to November, and scalloped hammerheads are seen seasonally in October and February.
